Supporting Those Less Fortunate

Food and Toys Drive, December 1 through December 15. The Embankment Clubs are getting together to contribute to the Wandsworth Food Bank. The food bank drive initiative is led by Thames, and the toy drive by London for Salvation Army Wandsworth.

Boxes will be placed in the rowers entrance area, please contribute if you are able. The following food items are currently the most needed: Sponge Puddings (long-life), Tinned Custard, Tinned Rice Pudding, Nuts, Cheese Biscuits, Sweet Biscuits (small packs best), Ketchup/Mayonnaise, Honey, Cooking Oil (small), Loo Roll (2 or 4 packs), Hot Water Bottles.

The following is recommended for children: 0-3 years: Dolls, teddy bears, cot mobiles, baby clothes, bath toys, CDs of suitable music and nursery rhymes, puzzles; 3-5: Dolls and action figures, cars, lorries, DVDs and CDs (music and nursery rhymes), colouring sets, pencils, crayons, books, puzzles; 5-9: Educational games & toys, stationery (colouring sets, pencils, crayons, school sets), CDs & family friendly DVDs, books, puzzles, wordsearch, crosswords; 9-12: Games and toys, stationery, DVDs, books, t-shirts, hair accessories, gloves, scarves, hats; 13-16: Books, make-up and toiletries (please try to ensure non-allergic ingredients if possible), gloves, scarves, hats, t-shirts, hair accessories and gift vouchers

LRC donations will be delivered to the recipients on Christmas VIII’s day, Sunday 15th December.

Mike Williams honoured with a Distinguished Service to International Rowing award

This is an announcement…

We would like to congratulate our Vice-President, Mike Williams on being awarded the Distinguished Service to International Rowing award at the World Rowing Awards dinner evening held in London on Monday, 23 November 2019.

As a long-serving members of the FISA Council and FISA Executive, Mike has contributed exceptional time, knowledge and experience to rowing, and has served as the FISA treasurer.
