As part of Masters rowing, recreational rowing at LRC covers wide spectrum in age and ability but all rowers share the same joy in boating, exercise and comradeship.

There is a strong social aspect to recreational rowing. Groups often meet up for a drink and a chat after an outing and a Wednesday mid-week after outing dinner is regularly held at the Club in the Long Room.

The recreational groups are also enthusiastic rowing tourists, meet up with other English Clubs and row different bits of river, often going abroad and in recent time have visited Venice for the Vogalonga, Berlin, Madrid, Paris and Holland.
