Finance Administrator (Part time) needed!

London Rowing Club (LRC) is seeking a part-time finance administrator, ideally with an interest in sport, to take the lead role for bookkeeping, financial record keeping and the production of financial reports for the Club. 

The position is a part time role (equivalent to 3 days per week) but requires flexibility to fit in with the activities of a sports establishment which runs its financial year to 31st July. In turn, the Club is able to offer flexibility around working hours. The position will be based at the Club on the Embankment at Putney.

The main responsibilities are: 

  • Processing of members’ subscriptions, invoices, payments and receipts.

  • Monthly bank reconciliations, payroll and financial reporting for the Committee. 

  • Quarterly VAT returns.

  • Annual budget preparation, general ledger journals, fixed asset register, preparation of end of year financial reports and statements.

Applicants should possess the following skills:

  • A good understanding of bookkeeping and financial reporting.

  • Being competent with accounting software, currently Sage.

  • Experience with financial management, budgeting, cash flow and VAT.

  • Experience in managing payroll and statutory payments.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

  • Self-motivated and an ability to work well within a team environment.

The salary is expected to be in the region of £27,000 -£ 32,000 (FTE) per annum based on a 35 hour working week, but pro rata’d for this part time role, and will be commensurate with skills, suitability and experience.
